As a Paediatric Neurodiverse Practitioner, my mission is deeply personal and driven by both my first hand experience and my expertise as a qualified Podiatrist with over 18 years of experience with a special interest in childhood development, biomechanics and gait.
Inspired by the challenges I faced navigating multiple therapy centres across Brisbane for my neurodiverse child, I founded Neurodiverse Playhouse to provide a holistic range of engagements in one cohesive space.
I am committed to offering high-quality, evidence-based therapy that not only meets the individual needs of each child but also enhances their overall experience.
My vision for Neurodiverse Playhouse is shaped by personal experience, professional expertise, and heartfelt care.
Through our comprehensive and unified approach, I am determined to make a lasting impact on the lives of children and families seeking holistic therapeutic solutions.

In my approach at Neurodiverse Playhouse, my team and I prioritise leverage the principles of neuroplasticity and primitive reflex theory to provide holistic treatment for neurodiverse individuals and their families.
Tailored programs target fine and gross motor skills, enhancing coordination and physical abilities. We also focus on cognitive skills, including attention, memory, and problem-solving, to promote cognitive development. Additionally, we offer interventions to support executive functioning, such as planning, organisation, and self-regulation, empowering individuals to navigate daily tasks more effectively. Social skills are a key focus area, where we provide support in understanding social cues, building relationships, and communication.
Moreover, we integrate interventions to enhance interoception, fostering awareness of internal sensations and emotions, essential for self-regulation and emotional well-being.
We recognise the importance of family wellness and strive to ensure that every member of the family is supported. We offer a holistic approach that not only focuses on the individual with neurodiverse needs but also considers the well-being of their family members. Through our programs and services, we provide resources, education, and support to parents, siblings, and other caregivers. By fostering open communication, understanding, and empathy within the family unit, we aim to create a supportive environment where everyone can thrive together

Meet Wally, our adorable guinea pig at Neurodiverse Playhouse!
Wally is not just any guinea pig—he's a crucial part of our community here at the Playhouse.
He brings a host of benefits to our neurodiverse children, helping them in unique and meaningful ways. Wally provides a sense of calm and comfort. The simple act of petting Walls can have a soothing effect, helping to reduce anxiety and stress. His soft fur and gentle demeanour make him the perfect cuddle buddy. Interacting with Walls also helps improve social skills. Children learn how to approach him gently, ask questions about his care, and share their experiences with each other. This promotes communication and fosters friendships.
Wally encourages sensory exploration. From the feel of his fur to the sound of his gentle squeaks, children engage their senses in a safe and controlled environment. Wally brings pure joy and happiness. The bond formed between Wally and the children is heartwarming and creates a positive, inclusive atmosphere here at the Playhouse. He truly makes the Neurodiverse Playhouse a brighter, happier place for everyone. Can't wait for you to meet him soon!
